Heian Jingu Shrine (Kyoto)

Heian Jingu Shrine was founded in 1895 to commemorate the 1,100-year anniversary of the transfer of the capital of Japan to the central Kyoto. The large "torii" gate, which is a registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, is sure to impress. The extensive Heian Jingu Shrine gardens are also famous for the beauty of the springtime weeping cherry blossoms.


Kyoto Modern Terrace

GLION MUSEUM (Osaka), Red Brick House in the Chikko Port

GLION MUSEUM is a classic car museum located in a red brick harbor warehouse in the Chikko Port that was built in 1923. With an interior reminiscent of the London and New York of yesteryear, the museum can boast a collection of rare classic cars from all over the world, within or outside Japan, displayed in working condition. Popular museum for grown-ups in an unusual venue, with the benefit of an adjoining restaurant and cafe.


Umeda Sky Building / Kuchu Teien Observatory (Osaka)

Asuka Historical National Government Park (Nara)

With a long history and an abundance of nature, Asuka is called "the spiritual home of the Japanese people". During the 100-year period from year 592 to year 694, Asuka area was where the palaces of the Emperors of Japan were located. Asuka Historical National Government Park has been established as part of protection of and utilization planning for the rich natural and cultural assets of Asuka. Despite its name, Asuka Historical National Government Park is not a space with fenced boundaries but has the unique characteristic of being made up of separate districts: "Takamatsuzuka", "Ishibutai", "Amakashi-no-Oka", "Iwaido", "Kitora Tumulus", each with distinct features.
