What is "SHIBUYA AXSH"?
SHIBUYA AXSH is located in the East Exit area of Shibuya, opposite the West Exit area, which is known for the iconic "Scramble Crossing" and fashion building "SHIBUYA109". Shibuya Station serves multiple lines, including the JR Yamanote Line, Saikyo Line, Shonan-Shinjuku Line, Tokyu Toyoko Line, Den-en-toshi Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Hanzomon Line, Fukutoshin Line, and Keio Inokashira Line. SHIBUYA AXSH is about a one-minute walk from the Ginza Line Hikarie entrance, making it easily accessible. The name "AXSH" combines "A" from the Aoyama area and "SH" from the Shibuya area, with "X" symbolizing the connection between these two areas. It aims to become an icon of the "Ao-Shibu" (Aoyama-Shibuya) area, following the "Oku-Shibu" and "Shibu-Nan" areas.
The building is 23 stories high, with the first to fourth floors housing commercial spaces, including restaurants and art galleries, and the fifth to 23rd floors designated as office spaces. The first and second floors feature an atrium filled with greenery. Although the Shibuya area has many slopes, this atrium provides easy slopeless access to the Aoyama area (open from 5:00am to 1:00am).

Accessing Aoyama Dori from Shibuya Station can now be done from the ground level of Shibuya Station using escalators and walkways within SHIBUYA AXSH, without climbing any slopes. The decks are sheltered, ensuring you can stay dry during rain and cool during extreme heat. SHIBUYA AXSH is directly connected to the multi-use complex "Shibuya Hikarie", with a pedestrian deck linking the third floors of both buildings, allowing for easy movement between the two.

SHIBUYA AXSH features large plazas at both the Shibuya and Aoyama sides, serving as the main entrances. The plaza on the Shibuya Station side is called "SHIBU Spot." Illuminations will decorate the first floor "SHIBU spot" and the second floor Irohamomiji for a limited time only from Saturday, November 16, 2024 to Friday, January 31, 2025 (light-up from 4:00pm to 1:00am). On the Aoyama side, there is a plaza called "AO Spot," which features public art by the contemporary art gallery NANZUKA, based in Shibuya. The first art piece, “The Tank” by Jean Jullien, will be on display until spring 2025, after which the exhibit will be changed two to three times a year.

The third floor houses the office entrance, which gives a surprisingly open impression for an office space. It includes a relaxing area for visitors and office workers to unwind. There are workspaces with tables, chairs, and power outlets by the windows, creating a casual working environment.

The atrium connecting the first and second floors is a popular feature of the building. The first thing guests notice is the "vertical garden" with plants hanging from the ceiling. The first to fourth floors feature 11 restaurants and cafes that include several innovative themes and first-time openings, a convenience store, a health screening center, and an art gallery (scheduled to open in spring 2025). These facilities cater to office workers and include notable dining options, such as restaurants making their debut in Japan or opening their second location outside Okinawa. Here are some of the standout eateries:
Izakaya at SHIBUYA AXSH: "Shio・Sake・Sakana Nakai Shouten"
Nakaiya, a long-standing salt merchant from Nihonbashi Kobunacho, has opened a new type of restaurant in SHIBUYA AXSH to allow people to enjoy the taste of "salt and sake." A unique feature is that ten varieties of salt are available on the tables.
During lunchtime, diners receive a boiled egg (or chilled tofu for those who prefer) with their order, allowing them to sample the day's selection of salt. The menu includes a variety of dishes that use salt, such as celebratory "salt-baked" dishes and "salt koji paper chicken," where salt koji marinated chicken is wrapped in paper to seal in the umami flavor.

Curry House at SHIBUYA AXSH: "Spice Theater"
Originating from Sapporo, the curry bistro "Spice Theater" has opened its second Tokyo location at SHIBUYA AXSH, following Gotanda. The restaurant boasts curries and spice dishes made by Indian and Nepali chefs using authentic spices. Their curries blend Japanese dashi culture and Asian spices, offering a healthy and light dining experience that can be enjoyed daily.
For those who want to try a variety of flavors, the "SPECIAL" (1,500 yen including tax) offers two types of roux with recommended toppings. The restaurant also serves craft beers, with six taps of draft beer available.

Spanish Restaurant at SHIBUYA AXSH: "Cerveza JPN"
This premier Spanish beer restaurant makes its debut in Japan here at SHIBUYA AXSH. "Cerveza" means "beer" in Spanish. At Cerveza JPN, diners can enjoy craft beers imported exclusively from around the world, along with authentic Spanish dishes such as paella and pinchos.
Cerveza JPN offers a "Craft Beer Tasting Set" (10 varieties for ¥5,980 including tax, 5 varieties for ¥3,300 including tax), featuring beers from both international and domestic breweries. Additionally, you can savor the "Tokyo Beef and Meat Platter with Five Types of Meat" (from ¥6,980 including tax), which includes rare black-haired wagyu, of which only about 50 units are shipped annually. The platter allows diners to sample various meats such as wagyu, Iberian pork, and Daisen chicken.

Hawaiian Cafe at SHIBUYA AXSH: "hale’aina HOA"
This is the second location of this popular Hawaiian cafe and diner offering authentic Hawaiian cuisine (the first location is in Okinawa). The menu features popular Hawaiian dishes like "Garlic Shrimp MIX 8P (Regular & Spicy)" (¥1,730 including tax) and "Acai Bowl (Mixed Berry)" (¥1,350 including tax).
Additionally, their original "Malasada Puff" (¥400 including tax), filled with various flavored creams, is highly recommended. There are six different flavors, including tropical, Okinawan, and savory options. All menu items are available for takeout.

Cafe at SHIBUYA AXSH: "ANTICO CAFFÈ AL AVIS"
This cafe is inspired by the concept of an Italian street corner bar. Diners can enter from the second floor plaza, accessible via the deck connecting Shibuya Hikarie to SHIBUYA AXSH. The interior features chandeliers and resonates warmth with its dark brown wood accents. The baristas carefully prepare each cup of coffee, and the menu includes fresh-filled panini and dolce, reminiscent of Italy.
A recommended item is the nutritious "Spinach Panini" (¥600 including tax), filled with spinach, four types of mushrooms, and bacon mixed with mayonnaise, all sandwiched in a black sesame bun. The drink lineup is also extensive, including "Blended Coffee" and "Cafe Latte" (from ¥450 including tax).
